Why it matters
Registration gives the e-commerce business official recognition and lets its data be collected for statistics and supervision. Businesses selling from their own site must register and keep their details up to date. Consistency between the registered details and the business details on the site also matters for trust.

Example
A newly opened online shop completes its ETBİS registration and adds its domain before starting to sell. When it later opens a second domain, it adds that one to the registration too.

Common mistake
Not reporting changes to the domain, address or trade name after registering. An outdated registration can count as failing the obligation.
