Google's page experience metrics
Core Web Vitals · The three measurements Google uses to assess page experience: loading (LCP), responsiveness (INP) and visual stability (CLS).

Why it matters
Core Web Vitals are how Google assesses page experience using measurements from real visitors: loading, responsiveness and visual stability. Content always comes first in ranking, but slow and jumpy pages lose visitors and lower conversions. They are monitored through the Search Console report and PageSpeed Insights.

Example
On a news site, the text jumps down when ad slots load and readers click the wrong link. Once space is reserved for the ad slots, the shift disappears and the page experience report improves.
- 03
Common mistake
Focusing only on the lab test score. Google looks at real user data; a high score from a fast computer does not reflect the experience of visitors on slow phones.
