Single-page application
SPA · A web application architecture in which the browser does not load a new page on navigation and content is changed on the same page with JavaScript.

Why it matters
Single-page applications offer a fast, fluid experience for dashboards and interactive tools. Content that needs to appear in search engines requires extra measures, though: rendering pages on the server or in advance, giving each view its own address and returning correct status codes. Otherwise content may be indexed late or not at all.
- 02
Example
A company's customer panel runs as a single-page application and is kept out of the index, while its public marketing pages are served as pre-rendered HTML and appear in search without problems.
- 03
Common mistake
Publishing a whole marketing site as a single-page application rendered only in the browser. If the search engine sees no content in the initial HTML, the pages' visibility suffers.
