Omnichannel retail
Managing all sales channels, such as stores, website, app, marketplaces and social media, connected to each other with shared stock, pricing and customer information.
- 01
Why it matters
Customers want to see a product online and buy it in the store, or see it in the store and order it online. If channels are disconnected, stock, prices and return rules conflict and the customer experience suffers. Connected channels, on the other hand, increase sales opportunities.
- 02
Example
A store chain lets online orders be picked up at the nearest store. Customers see stock on the site and collect the product the same day; some of those who come to the store buy more.
- 03
Common mistake
Applying different prices and return rules on each channel without explaining it to customers. Contradictions damage trust; if there are differences, they should be stated clearly.
