Accessibility pre-check

Web accessibility means that people with visual, hearing, motor or cognitive disabilities can use your site too. This tool scans a page's HTML against the automatically testable rules of WCAG 2.2: page language and title, image alt text, form labels, link and button names, zoom and heading order. Automated tools find only some of the problems; a full audit needs keyboard and screen reader testing.

Only the HTML of the public page is read; pages behind a login are not checked. To improve the tool and prevent abuse, the address you enter and a summary of the findings are stored (the page content is not) and deleted after 180 days.

Check a page's accessibility

  1. 01

What does an automated check find, and what not?

This tool checks rules that can be measured as present or missing in the page's code: elements without alt text, a label or a name, the page language, blocked zoom and heading order. Whether an alt text describes an image correctly, colour contrast, keyboard navigation and how a screen reader reads the page can only be tested by a person. A result with no problems does not mean the page is accessible; it only shows that these rules pass.

    Who must comply in Türkiye?

Presidential Circular 2025/10 (Official Gazette, 21 June 2025) gave the following one year to make their websites and mobile apps accessible: public institutions, universities, municipalities, banks, private hospitals, private education institutions licensed by the Ministry of National Education, Group A travel agencies, passenger carriers and electronic communications operators with more than 200,000 subscribers. That deadline passed on 21 June 2026. E-commerce service providers covered by Law No. 6563 were given two years (June 2027). The benchmark is the Ministry of Family and Social Services checklist based on WCAG 2.2.

  3. 03

    If you sell to Europe

The European Accessibility Act (Directive (EU) 2019/882) has applied since 28 June 2025 and covers e-commerce services for consumers; microenterprises providing services, with fewer than 10 employees and a turnover of at most 2 million euros, are exempt. Countries have transposed it into national law, for example the BFSG in Germany and the RGAA in France. Our guide explains the obligations country by country.

  4. 04

Does an accessibility plugin solve the problem?

Accessibility toolbars added on top of a page (overlays) offer settings such as text size or colours, but they do not fix the problems in the source code: an unlabelled field, a nameless button or a menu that cannot be opened with the keyboard stays as it is. WCAG conformance is achieved in the page itself; the lasting solution is to fix the problems in the code.

Frequently asked questions

What the tool checks, what it cannot check and how to use the result.

Does this tool show that my site conforms to WCAG?

No. The tool scans only the automatically testable rules and looks at a single page. A conformance decision requires all page types to be checked by hand with keyboard, screen reader, zoom and colour contrast tests.

Which pages should I check?

One of each page type: the home page, a product or service page, a listing or search page, contact and sign-up forms and, if you have them, the checkout steps. Pages built from the same template usually share the same problems, so fixing the template fixes all of them.

What does "rendered in the browser" mean?

Some sites build their content in the browser with JavaScript rather than on the server. Because this tool reads the HTML sent by the server, it cannot see most of the content on such pages. The results are then incomplete, and the audit should be done in the browser on the rendered page.

When does the accessibility obligation start for my site?

In Türkiye, the deadline for the one-year group of Circular 2025/10 passed on 21 June 2026, and it falls in June 2027 for e-commerce service providers. If you offer e-commerce services to consumers in the European Union, the European Accessibility Act has applied since 28 June 2025. See our obligations guide to clarify your scope.
