Rich results
Search results shown with extra information beyond the standard title and description, such as star ratings, price, availability, event dates or images.

Why it matters
Rich results take up more space and stand out, so they can raise click-through rates. Eligibility depends on correct structured data on the page and on Google's rules; even with markup, display is not guaranteed. Eligibility can be checked with Google's Rich Results Test.

Example
A shop adds price, availability and real customer ratings to its product pages with structured data. In search results, the products appear with price and stock information and clicks increase.

Common mistake
Marking up reviews a company wrote about itself on its own site to get stars. Google does not show self-serving business reviews as stars and may treat this markup as a policy violation.
