Minimum viable product

MVP · The most basic working version of a product idea that can be tried with real users; the goal is to learn the most with the fewest resources.

  1. 01

    Why it matters

Building every feature for months and then finding that nobody uses it is one of the most expensive mistakes. An MVP lets you launch early with the smallest scope that delivers the idea's core value and change direction based on user behaviour. Minimum does not mean sloppy; what is delivered must work reliably.

  2. 02

    Example

A booking app idea launches its first version with only calendar viewing, booking and SMS reminders. Because users mostly use cancelling and rescheduling, the second version focuses on that; the payment feature is postponed.

  3. 03

    Common mistake

Treating the MVP as a draft that skips design and security. A bad first experience gives the impression that the idea itself is worthless.
