Why it matters
Events are the foundation of measurement in Google Analytics 4; you decide what to measure. Recording the actions that matter to the business as correctly named events lets you see which pages and channels bring real results. A consistent naming rule for events keeps reports readable.
- 02
Example
A site records clicks on the “Get a quote” button in the pricing table, the WhatsApp link and brochure downloads as separate events. The report shows that visitors mostly prefer WhatsApp over the form.
- 03
Common mistake
Measuring everything as events and using none of them. Hundreds of events clutter reports; first define the few important actions that will guide decisions.
