Planning to use AI for our SEO — what should I measure and watch out for in the first 3 months?

We run a small B2B logistics software company. We don't have a dedicated full-time SEO specialist and the agency quotes we received start around 35,000 TL per month which exceeds our budget. Because of this, we decided to run our SEO operations largely using AI tools over the next three months.

Our plan is to generate blog content, meta tags, technical schema markup and internal linking strategies with AI models. However I'm worried about relying entirely on automation—specifically losing credibility with search engines or getting lost in a sea of low-quality content.

Which tasks can we safely offload to AI and where is human touch and expert review strictly necessary? I mean what metrics should I track to monitor risks and evaluate success during this initial 90-day trial?

Short answer: You can safely use AI for structured data, meta tag variations, and content outlining; however, industry expertise, technical accuracy, and final copy editing must remain under human control. Search engines don't ban AI content outright, but they will deindex or bury pages that fail to provide real added value and merely regurgitate existing web content.

For the first quarter, treat AI as a senior research assistant rather than an autonomous publisher. It is highly efficient for operational tasks like building heading hierarchies, clustering FAQs, and generating schema markup. However, in a sector like logistics involving regulations and technical jargon, publishing without verifying accuracy will hurt your reputation.

Rather than expecting immediate revenue gains within the first 90 days, focus on two core metrics in Google Search Console: the indexation rate of crawled pages and search impression growth. If your published URLs stay stuck in "Discovered - currently not indexed," it means the search engine views your content as shallow or duplicated.

Instead of pumping out dozens of pages a week, the safest approach is publishing 2-3 high-quality pieces per week—outlined with AI and enriched with your own hands-on industry experience.

Focus on technical tasks rather than pure copywriting. AI produces flawless results when generating JSON-LD FAQ schema, writing regex for WordPress redirect rules, or optimizing robots.txt. The time savings in those areas are massive.

Last quarter, we published 40 blog posts as raw AI output just to test it. Two months in, only 6 of them managed to break into the top 50. We then went back, added our own case studies and screenshots, and requested re-indexing; 18 of them jumped to page one. Pure automation just doesn't cut it.

it's great for writing meta titles and descriptions, but it can translate industry jargon really weirdly... turkish models sometimes just make up terms used in logistics, definitely spend two minutes proofreading before publishing.

note: I wrote this based on my own experience, it might not apply to everyone.

Set a firm rule: Never publish an AI-generated draft without adding at least one real-world case study, original image, or custom data table from your business. That single rule will keep your pages from being flagged as generic filler content.

Isn't your logistics software targeted at procurement managers and fleet operators? Decision-makers like that won't bother reading generic definitions generated by AI. How are you planning to prompt the model with the specialized integration workflows they're actually looking for?

There's no guarantee that AI content ranking today won't drop off a cliff after an algorithm update three months down the line. Search engines look for actual added value; identical texts pumped out using the same prompts are bound to get weeded out in the medium term.

If your budget is tight, don't be afraid to experiment. Just build a small cluster of 10 pages in the first month and see how it goes. If they index properly and start pulling impressions, you can slowly scale up from there. Just don't rush into publishing hundreds of pages all at once.

This is exactly what we experienced. If rankings stay the same but clicks drop the issue isn't your page, but the search result appearance.

If you have questions, write them; I'll answer as best I can.

This is exactly what we experienced. Updating an existing page yields faster results than creating a new one.

Good luck with that.

The discussion got scattered let me summarize. People defend habits, not processes. Resistance comes from there.

Most time waste accumulates in tasks waiting for approval.

The discussion got scattered, let me summarize. Ranking is the result, search intent is the input. Look at intent first.

I'd like to add this, as it's often overlooked on the forum: your time to detect a problem directly determines its cost. Speeding up detection is often cheaper than investing in prevention.

This approach has a cost, which isn't discussed... tbh the real issue isn't the number but what it's based on.

I didn't know that. A page that answers one question works better than one touching on five topics.

Any unwritten clause becomes a point of disagreement later, as both sides remember it differently. I'm also curious if anyone does it differently.

i agree with this then anyway just beause everyone does it doesn't mean it's right.

hasty decisions become decisions you have to fix six months later. tbh thats all sorry if I went on too long.

We've heard this a lot, but it never happened like that for us. Speed is a threshold issue; if you're already fast, making it faster changes nothing.

Of course, it varies if your situation is different.
