What are they doing to rank competitor sites higher on Google — how do you do competitor analysis, where do we look?

Bro I said: 'we aren't ranking but our competitors are'. anyway so what are they doing? How can I find out? Is it right to try to copy them without doing the work?

Are there tools that show this? Should I pay for tools like a paid SEO tool, or are there free options too?

Competitor analysis is a fundamental step in SEO strategy. By examining competitor sites, you can see which keywords they rank for and which backlinks they have.

Free tools: 1) Google Search Console — you won't see competitor site data, but it gives clues for your own site. 2) MozBar (Chrome extension) — Domain Authority, backlink count. 3) Builtwith — which tools are being used. Paid: paid SEO tools (ideal but expensive).

Competitor analysis steps: 1) Pick 3-5 competitors. 2) Measure DA/PA/backlink count with MozBar. 3) Note their backlinks from search results. 4) Look at their content strategy (word count, type). 5) Check if they have what you're missing. 6) Don't copy, take inspiration.

competitor analysis helped me a lot too... btw i saw the competitor's ranking keywords list in a paid SEO tool found 50 keywords we weren't ranking for. i wrote content on these topics and 30 of them ranked high in 3 months.

note: I wrote this based on my own experience, it might not apply to everyone.

check competitor DA/backlink count with mozbar. buy a paid SEO tool if you have the budget, but free tools are sometimes enough.

Quick competitor analysis: 1) Pick 3 competitors. 2) Download MozBar (Chrome). 3) Open the competitor site and check DA/backlink count. 4) Search for ranking keywords on Google ('site:competitor.com + keyword'). 5) List the missing keywords. 6) Write content on those topics. 7) Track rankings for 3 months.

You're right. Any unwritten clause becomes a point of disagreement later, as both sides remember it differently.

Hasty decisions become decisions you have to fix six months later. That's all, sorry if I went on too long.

The opposite happened to me that's why I'm writing. Hasty decisions become decisions you have to fix six months later.

If you post the result here, it will help others too.

I have a question. People defend habits, not processes. Resistance comes from there.

If you have questions write them; I'll answer as best I can.

Quick summary for newcomers: When making decisions, write down the worst-case scenario too, not just the best.

If you post the result here, it will help others too.

I have an objection here. I mean if it's your first time, start small; scaling comes later.

This is my opinion Im not claiming its absolute truth.

Let me summarize what's been said so far. Internal linking is the cheapest and most neglected task.

Good luck with that.

Here's how it went for us. The real issue isn't the number, but what it's based on.

Processes without records never improve, because you don't know what to fix. Proven by experience.

I think it's hard to be that definitive about how to do competitor analysis. Most time waste accumulates in tasks waiting for approval.

Correct me if I'm wrong.

There's a trap here, let me mention it. Speed is a threshold issue; if you're already fast, making it faster changes nothing.

Hope this helps.

To get into the details: A page that answers one question works better than one touching on five topics.

Of course, it varies if your situation is different.

The discussion got scattered, let me summarize. Don't trust anyone who gives guarantees; there are no guarantees in this business.

Correct me if I'm wrong.
