im a toy retailer, buying wholesale from china. chose china source because its cheap. but customers bring toys back saying 'it broke, plastic' after 1 week. i say 'manufacturing defect' but the customer doesnt want an exchange they want a refund.

I'm stuck in a dilemma: I have high-quality sources (not from China but from Europe) but my margins are halved. If I improve quality, prices have to go up—do customers run away if they say it's 'expensive'? What are others doing?

Regulatory requirements: your business needs to have these and those permits. Ask your accountant.

To do this job: 1) Ask the customer. 2) Get an answer. 3) Do it. Easy.

The answer to this question is simple: the door. Don't bother, just quit.

Professional advice: Plan your processes. Define the duration of each stage and tell the customer. Good luck.

Statistics: If you hire workers, costs increase by 40%, but output can increase by 60%. Net: +20%.

If customer satisfaction is a priority, you can find customers willing to pay a bit more. But it takes patience.

The opposite happened to me thats why Im writing. When making decisions, write down the worst-case scenario too, not just the best.

I'm also curious if anyone does it differently.

I'm writing this so you don't make the same mistake. Everyone rushing into toy shop product quality gets stuck at the same point.

Of course, it varies if your situation is different.

I didn't know that. Just because everyone does it doesn't mean it's right.

Processes without records never improve, because you don't know what to fix. Hope this helps.

Noted, thanks. Hasty decisions become decisions you have to fix six months later.

Mistakes made on the toy shop product quality side are usually reversible but expensive. Of course, it varies if your situation is different.

I have no experience with toy shop product quality, so I'm asking. Everything goes well for the first three months; problems arise in the fourth.

This is my opinion, Im not claiming its absolute truth.

The discussion got scattered, let me summarize. The answer varies greatly by industry; there is no one-size-fits-all rule.

I can't fully agree with this... tbh the answer varies greatly by industry; there is no one-size-fits-all rule.

If you have questions, write them; Ill answer as best I can.

I'd say don't rush. The biggest time-waster for us was not knowing who had the final say.
