The price for the logo and brand identity package varies wildly — how much should we have paid? What should it include?

Some agencies charge 5000 TL for a logo and brand identity package, others ask for 50000 TL. How do you even know what the difference is? We paid 25000 TL to the first agency, but we don't know how many revisions the other one includes. Is the quality the same or better?

What the agency delivered: logo files (PNG, SVG), color palette, font suggestions, style guide. Seems like a lot but I don't know if anything is missing. If we had hired a designer from the start, what would we have asked for?

Did the brand identity work add value for us? Or would it have been better to just redesign the logo? We can't figure this out when it comes up at the board meeting...

Logo and brand identity prices vary based on the designer's experience, the agency's size, and the scope of work. Average prices in Turkey: Freelance designer 3000-8000 TL, mid-sized agency 10000-25000 TL, large agency 25000-50000+ TL.

What should be included in the scope: Logo (5+ concepts, 3+ revisions), color code system (CMYK, RGB, hex), font selection (heading, body), style guide (logo usage rules), social media templates, business card and envelope design.

If all of these were done and the company's input was considered, 25000 TL is a reasonable price. To check the quality, look at whether the delivered files are professional and whether the revision process was effective.

we paid 35000 TL to a famous agency in our country for the logo. tbh it turned out really great the quality was worth it. when we tried a cheaper designer for 8000 TL, it was 'embarrassing', and we had to ask for fixes then so there is a correlation between price and quality but not always.

got a logo done on fiverr for 500 tl then went pro for 30k. the 30k version was print-ready though. price obviously relates to quality.

edit: typed from phone, sorry for typos.

Brand identity quality is determined by the following factors: 1) Designer experience (industry knowledge) 2) Agency portfolio (how well they've done similar work) 3) Number of revisions and feedback process 4) Completeness of delivered files. Price doesn't always reflect these factors; sometimes you're just paying for the corporate agency's name.

Value check: Ask the agency for the style guide (brand guidelines) file as a PDF and check it. Does it include logo clearspace, usage rules, and color codes? If yes, the quality is assured. Are the social media templates in SVG format (resizable)? If so, good job.

Hmm brand identity work is heavily hyped — it's also viewed through a marketing lens. The logo is important, but how much extra value does it actually add to your company? Do users really have to follow the brand guidelines?

Exactly, and not many people know this. The real issue isn't the number, but what it's based on.

Of course, it varies if your situation is different.

Thanks a lot, I'll try it today. Ask who prepared the quote and who will actually do the work.

I'm also curious if anyone does it differently.

We got stuck at the same point for a while. Everything goes well for the first three months; problems arise in the fourth.

That's all, sorry if I went on too long.

My perspective changed after experiencing that. Everyone rushing into logo and brand identity price gets stuck at the same point.

Let me share my experience. The system lives on after delivery; maintenance is a separate line item.

Do you think this works at any scale? In legacy systems, the most expensive thing is unknown dependencies.

Just leaving this note, it might be useful.

Exactly like that. Just because everyone does it doesn't mean it's right.

I'll try it. The answer varies greatly by industry; there is no one-size-fits-all rule.

That's all, sorry if I went on too long.

I've been dealing with this for a long time. If scope grows, either time or budget must grow. There is no third option.

Proven by experience.
