Sales are dropping in my bookstore because customers buy online — should I invest in ads or go online myself?

i run a bookstore physical store in istanbul. sales have dropped for 5 years because customers say 'it's cheaper online'. if i open an online store i can compete, but physical sales will drop even more. what should i do?

Procedure: First, create a written policy. Have the customer sign it. Then implement it.

Don't overthink it. Is being a shop owner really this hard? Like, what were you expecting?

Data analysis: As demand increases, capacity often drops by 30-50%. That's your situation. You need to increase capacity.

Professional advice: Do process planning. Define the duration of each stage and tell the customer. Good luck.

Start with this structure: make the customer understand 'this is how i'll do it', then do it. Good luck.

If you're struggling ask another shop owner. They're your best guides. There's no magic bullet.

From a management perspective: measure capacity, measure demand, if there's a gap find a partner or hire staff.

Following. Trying to do this alone is the most expensive way.

Most time waste accumulates in tasks waiting for approval. If you post the result here, it will help others too.

Let me write how its done in practice. If its your first time start small; scaling comes later.

Sorry, but this doesn't apply in every case. Splitting your budget without knowing where you're losing users is just throwing money in the dark.

Calculate how many months you can survive without revenue, then halve that number. Correct me if I'm wrong.

Let me write how it's done in practice. When making a decision, first look at what data you have on hand.

i'm writing this so you don't make the same mistake then i mean the real issue isn't the number but what it's based on.

changing habits is harder and more expensive than setting up a system but anyway im also curious if anyone does it differently.

There's a trap here, let me mention it. A two-week notebook guides you more than a six-month forecast.

I'm also curious if anyone does it differently.

I agree. People defend habits, not processes. Resistance comes from there.

Don't hesitate to ask; those who don't ask always pay more. That's all, sorry if I went on too long.

Yes, that's exactly how it is with bookstore online sales. When we decide without measuring, we always end up in the same place.

Taking notes for two weeks yields better results than a six-month estimate. Of course, it varies if your situation is different.
