When my first foreign client came from Germany — it was tough

German client (15k monthly). Time zone English, accounting wire transfers. Time on one project increased 5x. But references came in.

Foreign = complex but provides diversification. If you prepare, the second client is easy.

Youre right. btw processes without records never improve, because you dont know what to fix.

Mistaking revenue for cash is the most expensive illusion; trust the bank account. Im also curious if anyone does it differently.

There is something to watch out for. If you get three different answers on a topic, the question was asked wrong.

Cutting your own salary is a temporary tactic; if it lasts more than six months, something will break. I'm also curious if anyone does it differently.

Let me summarize what's been said so far. Everyone rushing into first foreign client gets stuck at the same point.

This is my opinion, I'm not claiming it's absolute truth.

The opposite happened to me, that's why I'm writing. Second-time founders don't make the same mistakes but find new ones.

Hope this helps.

I've been dealing with this for a long time. Taking notes for two weeks yields better results than a six-month estimate.

Of course it varies if your situation is different.

I've been dealing with this for a long time. The answer varies greatly by industry; there is no one-size-fits-all rule.

I have a question, don't want to go off-topic though. Everything goes well for the first three months; problems arise in the fourth.

Of course, it varies if your situation is different.

I've been dealing with this for a long time. Start with a small trial; don't commit to everything at once.

If you have questions write them; I'll answer as best I can.

I'm a small business, let me explain from my side. Everything goes well for the first three months; problems arise in the fourth.

Just leaving this note, it might be useful.

Let me summarize the topic, since several different answers were given. When we decide without measuring, we always end up in the same place.

Hope this helps.

Quick summary for newcomers: People defend habits, not processes. Resistance comes from there.

When making a decision, first look at what data you have on hand. Good luck with that.

there's a part I don't understand then like solutions that work at a small scale collapse when you grow; I learned this late.

if the gap between accounts receivable and accounts payable turnover days is widening revenue won't save you.. then of course it varies if your situation is different.

I'd say don't rush. Everything goes well for the first three months; problems arise in the fourth.

The harder it is to reverse a decision, the slower you should make it. Just leaving this note, it might be useful.

This approach has a cost, which isn't discussed. When making decisions, write down the worst-case scenario too, not just the best.

If you get three different answers on a topic, the question was asked wrong. Correct me if I'm wrong.

we got stuck at the same point for a while. most time waste accumulates in tasks waiting for approval.

thanks for writing this, that's the right way. tbh extending terms makes customers happy but turns you into a financing institution.
