I asked for WCAG accessibility, agency said "what is that?"

I need screen reader support for my site. Agency: is this an extra charge? Hmm.

Accessibility (WCAG) is a legal requirement. It should be included from the start of the design, not added as extra work later. If it wasn't, the agency failed.

I disagree with you on this point. The biggest time-waster for us was not knowing who had the final say.

Mistakes made on the requesting accessibility side are usually reversible but expensive. If you post the result here, it will help others too.

If I understood correctly, you're saying: Start with a small trial; don't commit to everything at once.

Of course, it varies if your situation is different.

I have a question, don't want to go off-topic though. anyway the real issue isn't the number but what it's based on.

Im also curious if anyone does it differently.

I went through the same thing two years ago. Mistakes made on the requesting accessibility side are usually reversible but expensive.

Generally correct but one part is missing. The biggest time-waster for us was not knowing who had the final say.

This is my opinion, I'm not claiming it's absolute truth.

There's one point I'm curious about. Taking notes for two weeks yields better results than a six-month estimate.

Could you elaborate on that? Access credentials should be opened in the company's name, not personal accounts.

Proven by experience.

Thanks for writing this, that's the right way. Any unwritten clause becomes a point of disagreement later, as both sides remember it differently.

If you get three different answers on a topic, the question was asked wrong. Hope this helps.

Let me share what happened to me; it might be useful. Any unwritten clause becomes a point of disagreement later, as both sides remember it differently.

Good luck with that.

I went through the same thing two years ago. Don't hesitate to ask; those who don't ask always pay more.

Trying to do this alone is the most expensive way. If I were you, I'd go this route.

I think differently. Code without setup documentation isn't yours, even if you have it.

If you post the result here, it will help others too.

I agree and Id like to emphasize that. The answer varies greatly by industry; there is no one-size-fits-all rule.

Absolutely. If I were to add anything: Any unwritten clause becomes a point of disagreement later, as both sides remember it differently.

Of course, it varies if your situation is different.
