I have a sales team, we do lead gen. We put customer info in Excel, but sometimes nobody knows what stage they're at. CRM was recommended. But if I'm gonna pay 1000 TL/month for a CRM, am I just wasting money?

When do you actually need a CRM? At how many customers does it become necessary? Is it worth it for a small sales team?

Rule of thumb for switching to CRM: if you have 50+ customers and a sales team of 2+ people, you need it. Because at that point, coordinating customer info gets hard. Excel isn't enough.

Advice: if the business is small (<50 customers), don't get a CRM. Medium (50-200 customers), simple CRM (Pipedrive, Freshsales). Large (200+), enterprise CRM (Salesforce, SAP). The cost/benefit ratio needs to make sense.

we use crm 500 lira a month. first few months i thought it was useless but after 3 months i saw: we realized a rep lost 20 customers, we saved that money. I mean crm is needed but timing matters too

CRM value: 1- Centralizing customer info, 2- Visibility of sales stages, 3- Finding untracked leads, 4- Sales forecast, 5- Efficiency tracking. If you need 3+ of these, you need a CRM.

When choosing a CRM: 1- Integration (connects to email, SMS, WhatsApp), 2- Mobile app (reps work on it), 3- Reporting (see everything), 4- Easy to learn, 5- Support. Pipedrive, Freshsales, Zendesk cover these five.

Gain from CRM investment: lost customer = found customer. If CRM helps you recover 5 lost customers you've paid for itself. That's when it's worth it.

edit: I wrote something wrong above, sorry about that.

Bro, after switching to CRM the sales team's morale goes up too! Because everyone knows who they're selling to and where to follow up. Efficiency doubles... Totally worth it!

Exactly, and not many people know this. Processes without records never improve, because you don't know what to fix.

Of course, it varies if your situation is different.

Thanks for writing this, that's the right way. Splitting your budget without knowing where you're losing users is just throwing money in the dark.

I've been dealing with this for a long time. Finding a new customer is more expensive than keeping an existing one.

People defend habits, not processes... Resistance comes from there.

The discussion got scattered, let me summarize. Trying to do this alone is the most expensive way.

If you post the result here, it will help others too.

This is exactly what we experienced. Mistakes made on the should i buy crm side are usually reversible but expensive.

The harder it is to reverse a decision, the slower you should make it.

exactly, and not many people know this but start with a small trial; dont commit to everything at once.

hope this helps.

My questions are cleared up, thanks. When making decisions, write down the worst-case scenario too, not just the best.

If I were you, I'd go this route.

The opposite happened to me, that's why I'm writing. When making decisions, write down the worst-case scenario too, not just the best.

Good luck with that.

My questions are cleared up thanks. Taking notes for two weeks yields better results than a six-month estimate.

Correct me if Im wrong.

I'm writing this so you don't make the same mistake. If you don't write this down from the start, it leads to arguments later.

Of course, it varies if your situation is different.

I'll try it. Everything goes well for the first three months; problems arise in the fourth.

That's all sorry if I went on too long.
