Do people searching for certain keywords want to buy or are they just looking for info — how do you figure out the intent?

Keyword: 'iphone repair'. When someone searches this: do they want to get their phone fixed? Or are they looking for info on how to repair an iPhone themselves? Doesn't this distinction matter?

If it's 'buy' intent, you should write a product page. If it's 'info' intent, an article? How do we tell the difference?

Search intent is Google's most important ranking factor. The same keyword can carry different intents: 1) Navigational — 'Facebook login' (going to the site). 2) Informational — 'how to repair an iPhone' (info). 3) Transactional — 'buy iPhone' (purchase). 4) Commercial — 'best iPhone repair service' (research & comparison).

Understanding intent: Check what type of pages rank in Google search results. If it's mostly shop pages, it's transactional; if it's blog articles, it's informational, etc.

look at the search results, do what's there and anyway if there are info pages write an article; if there are product pages, do e-commerce.

Search Intent Types: 1. Navigational: 'facebook' → Facebook site 2. Informational: 'how to repair iphone' → Blog article 3. Transactional: 'buy iphone' → E-commerce 4. Commercial: 'best phone' → Review/comparison Determine the intent of the keyword → choose the page type

Determining intent: 1) Search the keyword on Google. 2) What type are the top 10 results? (blog, shop, wiki). 3) If mostly blogs: write an article. 4) If mostly shops: product/category page. 5) If mixed: hybrid (blog + CTA to product).

Let me summarize the topic, since several different answers were given. Discussing numbers without verifying the measurement setup is a waste of time.

If I were you, I'd go this route.

Let me write how it's done in practice. Speed is a threshold issue; if you're already fast making it faster changes nothing.

If you get three different answers on a topic, the question was asked wrong.

sorry, but this doesnt apply in every case. taking notes for two weeks yields better results than a six-month estimate.

when we decide without measuring, we always end up in the same place.

the discussion got scattered, let me summarize and i mean any comment made without a control group is just a guess.

if you get three diffeerent answers on a topic, the question was asked wrong.

I felt relieved reading this answer, so it's not just me. Processes without records never improve, because you don't know what to fix.

If I were you, I'd go this route.

I agree, and I'd like to emphasize that. Taking notes for two weeks yields better results than a six-month estimate.

Any comment made without a control group is just a guess. I'm also curious if anyone does it differently.

i'll argue the opposite, don't get mad and honestly everything goes well for the first three months; problems arise in the fourth.

correct me if I'm wrong.

I felt relieved reading this answer, so it's not just me. Trying to do this alone is the most expensive way.

We need to take it step by step. The real issue isn't the number, but what it's based on.

If you post the result here, it will help others too.

This approach has a cost, which isnt discussed. Hasty decisions become decisions you have to fix six months later.

That's all sorry if I went on too long.

I have no experience with search intent, so I'm asking. Don't hesitate to ask; those who don't ask always pay more.

People defend habits, not processes. Resistance comes from there.
