the domain name renewal period expired, site was down for 3 days. Agency said 'i said i wouldn't remind you, but then i should have reminded you.' Who is responsible?

Domain renewal is the client's responsibility. But good agencies send notifications like 'renewal period is ending.' If the agency acts professionally, they send a notification.

My domain expired too it was terrifying. I mean since then, i make the agency send a reminder saying 'renewal on this date.'

The answer above hits the nail on the head. Trying to do this alone is the most expensive way.

The answer varies greatly by industry; there is no one-size-fits-all rule.

Good call starting this thread. Any unwritten clause becomes a point of disagreement later, as both sides remember it differently.

Good luck with that.

I'm curious too. When you try to change everything at once, nothing settles.

If you post the result here, it will help others too.

Do you think this works at any scale? The system lives on after delivery; maintenance is a separate line item.

I agree, and I'd like to emphasize that. When making a decision, first look at what data you have on hand.

Correct me if I'm wrong.

Thanks, that was the answer I was looking for. Weekly written progress reports are much more useful than asking for dates.

Of course, it varies if your situation is different.

I disagree with you on this point. If it's your first time, start small; scaling comes later.

Trying to do this alone is the most expensive way. Good luck with that.

I feel the same way. Ask who prepared the quote and who will actually do the work.

There's a part I don't understand. Most time waste accumulates in tasks waiting for approval.

Good luck with that.

I didn't know that. Implementing a change request process doesn't slow things down, it speeds them up.

Trying to do this alone is the most expensive way.

We need to make a distinction here. The biggest time-waster for us was not knowing who had the final say.

Correct me if I'm wrong.

Following. Don't hesitate to ask; those who don't ask always pay more.

Just leaving this note, it might be useful.
