I was thinking the same thing. When we decide without measuring we always end up in the same place.

If decision-making authority isn't defined, it causes daily issues, not just during exits.

Quick summary for newcomers: Give trial work but pay for it; free trials don't bind anyone.

I don't think this advice fits everyone. Solutions that work at a small scale collapse when you grow; I learned this late.
