We are a home furniture and decor manufacturer with both physical stores and our own e-commerce channel. Up until now, we've managed our ads in-house. Right now we're spending around 70,000 TL a month on ads, but we aim to gradually scale our budget up to 250,000 TL next season.
We are in talks to outsource marketing operations to a professional agency. Two agencies we met with pitched two different pricing models. The first agency wants a 12 percent management fee based on monthly ad spend. The second agency wants a flat fee of 18,000 TL per month regardless of budget, saying they'll only renegotiate if spend exceeds 200,000 TL.
For a growing business, which of these models is more advantageous in the long run? With the percentage model, I worry the agency will burn budget unnecessarily just to collect higher commissions; with the flat-fee model, I worry they'll slack off as the budget grows. What pricing structure minimizes these conflicts of interest?
