I need a single landing page but quotes are all over the place, what does creating a landing page actually include?

We run a small industrial packaging and crating company based in Moscow. We're launching ads for a new product line and want a single-page landing page that drives direct sales inquiries.

Once I started collecting quotes, I got completely confused. One freelancer quoted 25,000 Rubles promising a ready-made template in two days, while an agency quoted 180,000 Rubles with a four-week timeline. All the other offers fall somewhere between those two extremes.

What is actually being put on the table under "landing page creation"? Is it just the graphic design and coding of a page, or are copywriting, connecting forms to a CRM, mobile responsiveness, and analytics setup included by default? What exact deliverables account for this massive price gap?

Short answer: Creating a landing page isn't just drawing up a nice-looking layout; it's bringing together sales copywriting, a mobile-responsive interface, clean code, and lead-capture infrastructure around a single objective: turning ad traffic into paying customers. Budget quotes usually just hand you an empty template, while comprehensive offers cover everything from marketing strategy to full CRM integration.

The primary reason for the price difference is scope. When setting your budget, ask whether these four core phases are included: 1) Copywriting and value proposition: who actually writes the copy explaining why an ad visitor should choose you. 2) UX and mobile design: crafting a custom layout designed to convert, rather than just dumping content into a stock template. 3) Technical development and speed optimization: lightning-fast load times, fully functional forms, and reliable buttons. 4) Integrations: routing form submissions directly to your email or CRM, plus configuring tracking pixels and conversion events.

Don't just settle for a vague promise that "a page will be built." Make sure your contract explicitly states who provides the copy, where form submissions get sent, and whether ad tracking pixels will be set up. Skipping these items can turn a cheap build into an expensive headache once the hidden costs kick in.

Focus on functionality, not just a low price. A 25,000 Ruble template will almost certainly just be a bare-bones skeleton. If you don't supply the copy yourself, they'll leave it blank or fill it with placeholder text. If you're selling B2B packaging, you need well-crafted technical specs and an intuitive quote request form to convince decision-makers.

We took the budget route last year for a similar B2B campaign, paying 45,000 Rubles. The design wasn't bad, but the forms broke multiple times a week and leads were vanishing into thin air. We ended up spending an extra 70,000 Rubles to have the copy rewritten and the CRM hooked up properly. Clarifying the scope upfront saves you money in the long run.

The most critical technical details are form integration and server response time. No matter how pretty the page looks, if it loads slowly on mobile, your ad spend goes straight down the drain. Make sure your specs outline where form data is sent, spam protection, guaranteed load speeds, and analytics tag setups.

agencies definitely overcharge sometimes but 25k rubles is suspiciously cheap. like they'll probably just slap some pre-made blocks together in a day and call it done. ask if a copywriter is involved, headlines and persuasive copy are what actually move the needle.

Who's handling the ad campaigns, though? Will the landing page designer actually review your target audience, or are they just delivering whatever visual you hand them? The page copy and the ad copy have to speak the same language—did they factor that into the quote?

Use this checklist when comparing quotes: 1) Sales copy written from scratch. 2) Full responsiveness across mobile, tablet, and desktop. 3) CRM, email, or messenger alert integrations. 4) Conversion tracking codes properly configured. 5) Post-launch technical support for a set period. Any quote missing these is misleading.

Most of those 180,000 Ruble agency quotes are just bloated with unnecessary meetings and project manager overhead. They present it like they're building a massive enterprise portal. A skilled copywriter paired with a solid freelance developer can deliver the exact same results for a fraction of the price—no need to pay for an agency logo.

Agency or freelancer doesn't matter: ask for live links to past work they've done. Pull up the page on your phone and submit a test lead. Does the form go through instantly? Does the page load fast? That simple test will immediately show you which quotes are legit.

My perspective changed after experiencing that. Start with a small trial; don't commit to everything at once.

exactly like that and everything goes well for the first three months; problems arise in the fourth.

if scope grows, either time or budget must grow. there is no third option.

It's rare to find an explanation this clear.

I'm curious too. Solutions that work at a small scale collapse when you grow; I learned this late.

Of course, it varies if your situation is different.

Same here. The harder it is to reverse a decision, the slower you should make it.

The system lives on after delivery; maintenance is a separate line item. Of course, it varies if your situation is different.

We need to make a distinction here. If scope grows, either time or budget must grow. tbh there is no third option.

If you post the result here, it will help others too.

There's a part I don't understand. Every "we'll look at it later" in a meeting means unbilled work.

I'm also curious if anyone does it differently.

I'll argue the opposite don't get mad. Implementing a change request process doesn't slow things down it speeds them up.

Correct me if I'm wrong.
